Unoffice Hours: what it is and how to book a call
I’ve opened up time in my work schedule for Unoffice Hours—a chance to book a 30-minute call with me about anything you want.
These calls have become a highlight of my week. There’s no agenda, no pressure, and no need to email first—just a conversation between two people. Whether we’ve worked together before, connected online, or never met, you’re welcome to join.
What Can We Talk About?
There are no rules, but here are a few topics people have brought up:
- A general catch-up—tell me what you’re working on
- Branding, design, marketing, freelancing, or creative work
- Productivity, working from home, and running a business
- Feedback on your marketing or branding
- A book, movie, or idea you’re excited about
- Something entirely unexpected!
Bring your favorite beverage, and let’s see where the conversation takes us.
What Are Unoffice Hours?
Unoffice Hours is inspired by Matt Webb, who started this in 2020 as a twist on traditional office hours—a way to open up conversations with no expectations.
Traditional office hours go back to college days—when professors set time aside for students to drop by, ask questions, or discuss ideas. Over time, tech and business leaders adapted the concept for networking and mentoring.
But why “Unoffice” Hours?
- Even though I am a professor, I’m not in an office
- There’s no structure—just a chance to connect
- These chats are a more natural (and introvert-friendly) way to network.
Sometimes, a conversation sparks a new idea. Sometimes, talking things through reveals something you didn’t know was in your head. And sometimes, you just need a second pair of eyes to make sense of something overwhelming.
No expectations, just conversation. Curious? Let’s chat.
Schedule a 30-minute chat with me
We have 30 minutes to talk about whatever you want. If you’re curious about how we could work together, we can dig into that. If you want to share ideas, follow up on something I wrote on my blog, or show me your latest project—let’s do that.
Go ahead, pick a time that works for you, and let’s chat.
